Any pay scales for Part 135 G-IV and DA-2000?

$

Hey all,

Are there any Part 135 operators out there that operate the G-IV SP or DA-2000 on a Home-based 8/6 or 15/13 schedule? (Not the higher paying Part 91 corporate jobs with no schedule) We are considering picking up a few of the above and were wondering about pay scales... So if anyone has a pay and benefits package for the above aircraft, we would appreciate it. We see that Mountain Aviation is paying $125K PIC/$105 SIC for a 15/13 Home based schedule + $5000 extra to live in Denver..

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey all,

Are there any 135 operators that revert to Year 1 Captain pay when a Year 2 or more FO upgrades?

Thanks...

FAA SSRI Special Issuance Timeline - Waiting

Has anybody been through the SSRI protocol and received a special issuance? All items were sent to Washington DC about a week ago for review. Wondering about how long I'm looking at until I hear from them.

Seeking a first class so I can finally start applying to regionals.

Thanks!!

Call to an Earlier Class

Was anyone with a recent class (2019) called for an earlier class?

With the rumors of recent no shows to classes, I'm just wondering about the probability of a call to join an earlier class to fill the slot.

Evidently, if a person bails on a class within two weeks of the class, there is no way for HR to fill the slot, since it takes two weeks to set up payroll, etc.

IAD Dysfunction

Anyone know why this beautiful airport with lots of concrete can’t move airplanes efficiently? Over the last 15 years, I’ve experienced some amazing feats of perceived ineptitude. Further research indicates IAD has the longest duration of delays of any airport in the U.S. and handles roughly the same number of operations as FLL with half the number of runways. DCA handles more traffic with fewer delays, less efficient infrastructure, and more airspace restrictions. LGA handles almost twice as much traffic and we all know what kind of dumpster fire that place is.

If there is a logical reason behind the perceived shenanigans, please enlighten me so I’ll stop kicking puppies.

Diabetic Pilots Sue the FAA

I've talked to Chris on the phone, he is passionate about being able to fly commercially but is a Type 1 Diabetic on insulin. Canada and England allow those pilots to fly commercially and the US can to but the FAA has not made a single decision either up or down since 2015. Chris got some good exposure via an interview with Fox46 here in CLT:

UPS 747 question

This is my first post. I am not a pilot but an aviation geek. I was outside today in the late afternoon in the Chicago area and spotted a 747 overhead at cruise altitude with a contrails from each engine—it was N-NW bound. There appeared to be something unusual with one of the engines which is why i am posting. Every 3 to 5 seconds a large puff of white contrail came out of the left outboard engine. This happened as long as i saw the craft. All the other 3 engines were putting out a steady contrail. The plane of course landed ok at MSP.

Is this abnormal for an engine to do that?

I checked the radar plot and it looks like it was UPS 2560 from Louisville to MSP. N579UP according to RadarBox.

I will leave the driving to you all! thanks

When to take long term Mil leave

Does anyone know the latest on when it's cool to take long term Mil leave (>1 yr)? I've heard everything from right after Indoc, after consolidation, and after probation. It sounds like AA is more lenient with this, just trying to find the right balance with my Guard job and the company without ****ing anyone off or ruining it for the bros. Thanks.

Time building question

New pilot, with about 150hrs and PPL/IFR. I have unlimited access to an Archer. Would it be looked down upon by a regional to build hours to ATP mins in your own plane vs. building hours as a cfi?

Are the UPS pay scales on APC 2019 rates? If not, is there a good place to find them (and perhaps 2020/2021 scales)?

737 MAX TNR Article.

It's a "long form" article. I'd say required reading for those who are wondering if something at Boeing has changed for the worse in the past 10-20 years. Definitely should read if on the 737 (yes, I know there are no MAX's at Big-D; but this article will make you question the wisdom of buying/flying Boeing aircraft designed after the 777... including the 737 MAX and later variants of the 737 NG)

Highly recommended. I used to be a "If it's not Boeing, I'm not going" kinda pilot.

Now, not so much. (Personal note: How is that ridiculous "recall" fault system panel even still legal in new airplanes? I mean...seriously?!?)

Yeah, still safe, but unnecessarily complicated. That's a bug, not a feature. (Would you buy a new car that has no "engine service light", no manual transmission, no basic annunciator panel?....yet a plane "updated" in the 2010's....the 1960's system is AOK?!?)

Delves much more into the 737 MAX MCAS issue than a mere "software glitch". Persuasively argues that the culture at Boeing has changed a great deal since the last great airplane produced by Boeing (the 777).

Pro-union article to a fault. Take from that what you will.

I'm watching the Steve D. (former Big D, now FAA Administrator) handling of this with real interest. Would not want to be him; the pressures must be enormous.

I know reserve times vary from time to time, but was wondering if anyone has any information on how long to expect to spend on reserve once finished with initial training out of Seattle on the jet. Also, how much flying can be accomplished while on reserve.

I know this comes up every quarter, so here’s where we are at YTD for those of you who are interested.

From Q1: “Delta is off to a solid start in 2019. Our March quarter performance demonstrates the power of our growing brand preference, our unmatched competitive advantages, and most importantly the Delta people who are committed to providing the best travel experiences for our customers every day. I’m pleased to recognize their efforts with $220 million toward next year’s profit sharing,” said Ed Bastian, Delta’s chief executive officer. “With the momentum in our business and our American Express contract renewal, we have increased confidence in achieving our full-year plan of top-line growth, margin expansion and double-digit earnings growth.”

From Q2: Accrued an additional $518 million in profit sharing and paid $26 million in Shared Rewards as a testament to the outstanding performance made possible by Delta’s more than 80,000 employees around the world.

From Q3: • Rewarded Delta people through an additional $517 million in profit sharing accrual and paid $12 million in Shared Rewards, recognizing the performance of Delta's more than 80,000 employees through a busy summer.

So.... YTD $220m+$518m+$517m for the first three quarters has a total profit sharing pool of $1.255 billion.

Let’s hope for a strong Q4!!

Logbook for Interviews

Greetings.

I will be interviewing for some regionals in the not too distant future, likely the next month or two. I use Foreflight exclusively for my logbook and want to make sure my logbook printout is good for interviews. Does anyone have some advice on getting a Foreflight logbook printout bound? I will likely go to FEDEX and see what services they offer, but wanted to know what others recommend and have used for interviews.

Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone I am a rotary Wing to fix Wing guy doing the transition with trans States Airlines they're funding my training right now and I am in a bit of a time crunch. I already have my private rating along with my instrument rating for airplane of course I already have my commercial helicopter. I was wanting to know if it was a bad idea for me in order to save time to skip my single-engine commercial and go straight to the multiengine commercial instead. It's not required for me to have the single-engine so I was wondering if I was missing out on anything thoughts opinions would be greatly appreciated thank you very much.
